We all know that there are many elements that we consider “key” elements to success. As with anything you do dedication, time, effort, determination, wisdom, knowledge they are all important factors in you being successful with affiliate marketing. We think that, while everything is important, staying focused might just be the most important key to success. All to often we are busy with our day to day activities and forget to do the things we need to do for our affiliate marketing. It’s pretty easy to forget seeing as how most everyone reading this probably just considers affiliate marketing something you do part time for some extra cash. Unless you are making hundreds of thousands of dollars it’s probably not your main stream of income and therefore it can get overlooked fairly easy for days at a time. While this may be common it certainly isn’t a good thing for you or your success in affiliate marketing. This industry requires you to stay focused and set goals in order to become successful.
We always suggest being goal oriented because it gives you a target to work towards. If you don’t have goals you just sit on the computer every day doing a plethora of things that add up to basically nothing. If you have a goal in mind then your doing things to achieve that goal and eventually they can pay off when you successfully get to that point. We will point out a few goals and how to plan for those goals right now:
#1. Let’s say you want to have a successful blog on (maybe blogster.com) about weight loss, online movie rentals, and skin care.
GOAL: Create 3 blogs on blogster.com (one for each category), generate traffic to those blogs by blogging daily, linking, and promotion.
Focus on:
#1. Setting up the blogs over at www.blogster.com
#2. Writing a post on each blog every day of the week. Never miss one!
#3. Posting links to your blog on forums, other blogs, and other websites.
#4. Submit articles with links and information on your blog to article websites.
#5. Utilize Twitter, Facebook, & MySpace to drive your social network friends to your blog daily.
You see you have a goal and you also have things to focus on each and every day. It really helps to draw something like this out for everything you want to do with your affiliate marketing website. If you want to setup PPC accounts on Google, Yahoo!, MSN draw out your goal, how many ads you want to have written, and then write out the steps to get there. Each time you finish a step simply mark it off your list and continue on. Before you know it you will have achieved your goal and success should be right around the corner.
